Dry Density : Soil Laboratory
Today I have come to speak for you
in a new topic. I am doing engineering from the civil branch so this time we
have a training of one month, we have put basic layers to construct the road or
if some road is broken, then we have told about fixing it, which is from our
books Was totally different.
First of all, we should check the
soil and see how it is. First of all, we should remove the Moisture content of
soil after compression we have to test it. They will do the same after
compiling every test.
Now we talk about what happens to
the compaction of soil. First we need 5 kilograms of soil and we have to add 8%
of the weight of the soil we got and it got mixed well.
Then we will take a
mold and fill the soil in it will be filled in 3 layers and after each layer
there is an uptrend of the type of hammer, it is released with 25 free fall so
that the soil is compact. Then we remove the layer above it and take a sample
of some soil from inside the layer with the help of a spoon and keep it in the
oven to dry it.
Then we will weigh them and by mixing 2 and 2% of the water in
this process will repeat the process until its weight gets reduced. By the way,
between 12% to 16% weight loss occurs. Keep that clay sample in the oven after
24 hours, we will weigh it again so that we will get dry density.
